Renowned for its exceptional durability and weather resistance, Brazilian Ipe arrives in a rich golden-brown finish and naturally weathers to a beautiful silvery gray when left untreated. Due to its substantial weight, both the 12" × 18" and 18" × 18" mailbox models must be mounted to a concrete pad or existing concrete footing. Every Overland Mailbox is shipped in its natural raw hot rolled steel finish, featuring unique mill scale and subtle heat markings that make each piece one of a kind. Exposure to the elements will naturally transform the steel into a rich rust patina, while the Ipe gracefully develops its signature silver-gray appearance. Product photos show both the raw steel finish and the fully weathered appearance, allowing you to see how the materials naturally evolve over time.
