We build and deliver the Barton mailbox in 11 gauge, raw hot rolled steel. Much like the grain in wood, this dark unfinished steel finish comes with a variety of heat marks from the raw steel cooling in the steel mill. Most people let this mailbox develop a handsome rust patina over time. The pictures show it at the tail end of this process, as well as the raw steel look at the time of shipment.

POSTS: We offer two types of steel posts for mounting - please choose from the drop-down menu above.

60" Option: Set in Concrete -- This option allows you to set the post into concrete up to 18 inches. The entire length of the post is 60 inches. The post comes with a mounting plate that will align with the pre-cut holes in the Dexter mailbox. Hardware is included.

42" Option: Existing Footing -- This option is 42″ long and comes with a bolt plate for mounting to an existing footing or pavement. Hardware is included.

LOCKING: We offer our Barton Mailbox with an optional lock. The locking option adds a door behind the main front door with a slot at the top, and we'll provide you with two keys.

FACEPLATE: We offer a raw steel faceplate for an additional fee that features your custom laser-cut house numbers. We add a piece of white acrylic behind the numbers so they stand out.

FLAGS: We now offer two choices of flags when purchasing your mailbox, a steel flag or a red powder-coated flag. Click here to add to your order.

Bold Statement

As the title says, this mailbox makes a bold statement. I reviewed the measurements carefully before purchasing, worrying it would be a bit small. Boy was I wrong. This thing is a beast, built to withstand the apocalypse, or in my case the city snowplow that took my old mailbox out. I have yet to install it, I am letting it patina/rust while I dream up a post worthy enough to compliment fine piece of steel fabrication. This mailbox will outlive me; I have no doubt of that. Would highly recommend ordering from Bold Manufacturing!!

The title says it all. My POS neighbor destroyed my cheap tin mailbox with a baseball bat. No way he'll try it again when he sees this thing!

Quality build and quality service

I wanted this mailbox because it’s heavy steel and I wanted it to last the rest of my life. You don’t realize how heavy duty it is until you touch it, it’s a really nice build. It’s built like a tank and well packed for shipping, but, in shipping somehow one corner still got bent, enough that I couldn’t open the door completely. I took pictures, sent them an email and in no time they made me a new one and sent it out, no hassle, they just took care of it and made it right, that’s good business. This is a great product.
