The Barton Mailbox has a tasteful modern shape with the top and sides formed from a single piece of 1/8” thick steel plate. Each one is hand crafted to our exacting standards—the Barton is about as sturdy as they come. It has a simple front-hinged closure with a magnetic catch. Please scroll through the pictures to see more angles and dimensions.
CUSTOM FACEPLATE: We offer this mailbox with a customizable faceplate. If you want the custom plate, just select that option in the drop down menu and fill in your custom address numbers.
LOCKING: We offer our Barton Mailbox with an optional lock. The locking option adds a door behind the main front door with a slot at the top, and we'll provide you with two keys.
POSTS: We offer two types of steel posts for mounting - please choose from the dropdown menu above.
Option 1: Set in Concrete -- This option allows you to set the post into concrete up to 18 inches. The entire length of the post is 60 inches. The post comes with a mounting plate that will align with the pre-cut holes in the mailbox. Hardware is included.
Option 2: Existing Footing -- This option is 42″ long and comes with a bolt plate for mounting to an existing footing or pavement. Hardware is included.
As with all of our products, the raw steel will eventually develop a brown patina over time with natural weathering. The rate at which this rusting happens varies with exposure to the elements and your particular climate. You will have the option of painting or powder coating your mailbox if you choose (we do not currently offer either of these services). For more information about speeding up the rusting process, painting, or sealing your mailbox, please go here.
Please note: the first pictures show a mailbox that has already rusted. When your mailbox arrives, it will be dark grey raw steel (see the later picture).
